Christopher R. Bjornberg Chief Executive Officer

Chris Bjornberg has over 19 years of experience as a healthcare executive. Mr. Bjornberg also has experience being self-employed as a rural healthcare consultant where he spent time mostly helping Rural Hospitals through strategic planning, restructuring, contract negotiations, board education, staff education of the complicated financial reimbursement landscape and new EHR implementation as well as many other things. Mr. Bjornberg was also a part owner of Mental Health Clinics in Southeast Idaho which he is responsible for growing from one location to multiple locations across the state of Idaho as well as becoming the first Clinic to offer medication management via Telehealth in the state.

Mr. Bjornberg received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from American InterContinental University (AIU) in June of 2004. Continuing his studies at AIU, he then completed his first Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management in September of 2005, followed by his second MBA in Accounting and Finance in July of 2006. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

In his free time, Mr. Bjornberg enjoys spending time with his family and supporting his kids in their various activities. He loves sport, the outdoors and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, fishing and hunting. He can often be seen with a smile and loves to make others laugh. He enjoys interacting with staff, patients and their families and would rather be out and about than in his office. He is a “small town boy” growing up in a town of just over 1300 people with a brother who was a brittle juvenile diabetic so he knows firsthand the important role of healthcare in a rural community. This is where his love and passion of rural healthcare began.

 

Carly C. Loper, MAccChief Financial Officer

Carly Loper began her career with Pioneers Memorial Hospital in 2013. Since 2013, she has held various positions including Senior Accountant, Budget & Reimbursement Manager and Controller. As Chief Financial Officer, Carly provides executive oversight and support to the finance, reimbursement, financial planning and operations, and revenue cycle operations of the District.

Mrs. Loper earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from San Diego State University and a Masters of Accountancy from National University. She also holds several memberships in the healthcare industry including memberships with Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), California Hospital Association and the National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC). Mrs. Loper recently became a Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional (CRHCP) through the National Association of Rural Health Clinics.

Carol Bojorquez, MSN, RN Chief Nursing Officer

Carol Bojorquez was born and raised in Brawley, California and is a proud Imperial Valley College nursing program graduate that went on to earn her RN license in2002.  Since becoming an RN, Carol has pursued higher education and obtained a Master’s Degree in Nursing Leadership in Health Care Systems from San Diego State University.   

Carol has dedicated her entire nursing career to Pioneers Memorial Hospital and now serves as the Quality Director. Her passion is helping this organization provide safe, high quality care to the families of the Imperial Valley. 

In addition to her day-to-day roles within PMH, Carol serves as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for Imperial Valley’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and is a member of the Imperial Valley Research Council, Child Abuse Response Team. She also serves on the Local Health Authority Quality Improvement and Utilization Committee.

 

Carly Zamora MSN, RN – Chief of Clinic Operations

Carly Zamora, MSN, RN is an Imperial Valley native. She was born and raised in Brawley, California. She is a graduate of Brawley Union High School and Imperial Valley College where she earned her first nursing degree. She continued her education and now holds a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis of Health Care Administration from Grand Canyon University as well as Certification as Rural Health Clinic Professional. Carly has been an employee of Pioneers Memorial Hospital since 2002. Carly started as a Unit Clerk in the Emergency Department, worked her way through nursing school and eventually worked her way up to Clinical Manager within the ED. She Continued to grow her nursing expertise and became the Infection Preventionist for the hospital and worked in that capacity for approximately seven years. She began working with the Ambulatory Services as the Director of Rural Health Clinics approximately four years ago and has since transitioned into her current role of Chief of Clinic Operations.
